Abstract

The general aims of silviculture are forest conservation and forest restoration, but especially the promotion and maintenance of a state of good health and well-balanced structural equilibrium in the forest. The practice of silviculture is a logical consequence of forest utility. It must create appropriate conditions for forest utilisation and production lasting benefits at a high level for the greatest number.
